New Quest 3, cant get referral to work

Hi all, completely new to VR, fairly computer competent I thought. Downloaded and installed apps on PC and phone 4-5 days ago, all logged in (I think) just waiting for the Quest to arrive (which it now has). I saw about the referral programme for $60 before activating the quest, but cant get it to work, at all. I have searched for referral links and found. Clicking them on my phone did nothing, brought up the app, but under referrals, or a place to accept, nothing. On the pc clicking referral links works, opens new page but when I click accept I get refused saying I've referred myself, not available in my region (UK) or some such thing. Can somebody help please? I know if I activate the Quest I lose the referral, so haven't. Many thanks.

    We have seen your post and understand that you are experiencing some problems or have questions about using the referral program. We would be more than happy to help.

     

    To redeem a referral link, you can follow these steps:

     

    • Click the referral link that was received.
    • Create a new Meta account, or log into an existing Meta account that has never had a Meta Quest device registered to the account.
    • Purchase a new Meta Quest device from any retailer.
    • Both the referral recipient and the friend who referred them will receive $30 (or equivalent, based on location) in Quest Store Credit once the new headset is activated for the first time.

    You can redeem your device referral credit by following these steps:

    From the Meta Horizon mobile app:

    • Tap your avatar picture at the bottom.
    • Tap the hamburger icon in the top right.
    • Swipe down and tap Referrals below Payment and subscriptions.
    • Tap Device Referrals and redeem your available device referral credits.

  • Thanks for the response. I have tried those things and they dont work, so have messaged you in the method detailed above.

      What did you do to get it? I followed the steps and still don't have a $60 credit... Does it take a few days?

      The steps from metas answer only allow me to share a referral code...
