New v74 update issues

Hello,

I updated to v74 this evening and ever since, my meta quest has been stuttering really bad. I'm using virtual desktop, I have a ryzen 7 4800x3d, RTX 7900 xtx and 32 GB of RAM. Even when I tried to play Golf+, it was stuttering noticably as well.

  • My solution was to opt out of PTC and roll back to v72. This will factory reset your device. If you only use your Quest for PCVR then its not an issue. After rolling back all the stutters were gone and I was back to being able to playing games on Virtual Desktop flawlessly.

      ok not the same, ryzen 5 7600X , 32GB RAM, Rtx 4070

  • Exact same issue here. Getting stutters in VD, Air Link and Steam Link. Wasn't having this issue on v72 and I ruled out my home network and PC.

  • Same here. I9 11th gen. RTX4090. Used to work great. Mostly sim racing. Now get pauses up to a couple seconds. Had to switch to using the Link cable.

Same here, opting out of the PTC and doing a factory reset to v72 fixed it.

If you turn off PTC and then go to Software Update, you can download and install v72 and it will prompt you about a factory reset when you start downloading, if I remember correctly.

thank you for the response. This seems to have fixed the issue somewhat.

  • I'm also having issues with version 74, on my Quest 3. I  just updated earlier today and pc link and airlink are now stuck at 72hz even though the Quest Link App is set to 120hz when I load Oculus Debug tool its showing the headset is stuck at 72hz, airlink and link was working fine before the update.

  • Gracia app became completely broken after v74, app still working just fine on v72

  • There's definitley something wrong with update 74 I also just rolled back to 72 and I can now run at 120hz again.

  • I have the same issue since v74. it almost freeze for less then a second. no matter VD, SteamVr. first i thought its something with my PC because Quest3 apps works with no problems at all. But im "Glad" to see its the update. Forgot that i was still in the PTC.

Im hoping for an Update. Im Lazy and dont want to reset.
