Not letting me in.

Hey! I’ve had my Meta quest since Christmas of last year. All of the sudden now that I wanna play it, it won’t let me in, it puts pop-ups on my screen, and I can’t click on them to dismiss them. It talks about an update about hand and body tracking, and it gives me the option to click OK but the click doesn’t go through. The same thing is happening when it shows my battery on the screen. I can’t even access my menu becausenone of the buttons on my remote seem to work. It does show the moving and the beams coming out of them when my headset is on though I just need some help because I spent lots of money on this and it’s not working all of a sudden.

Can't you just put the controllers down and use hand tracking? Or use the vol+/- and power buttons to navigate the menus?

Hey there! Button issues aren't something we want you to have to go through. Luckily, they can be very easily resolved a lot of the time.

There's a few basic troubleshooting steps we can look at to get us started:

    • Are the buttons sticking at all, or not returning to their "neutral" position?
    • Is the issue with both controllers?
    • Are there any status lights on your controllers? These can be blinking or solid.
    • Do you have any controller covers or third party attachments that could be causing issues?
    • Does force restarting your headset resolve the issue? You can do this by holding down the power button for 30 seconds until you hear your device turn back on.

Since you've mentioned you can see the controllers in your headset, as well as the beams, it sounds like they're paired correctly. Even so, can you try unpairing and re-pairing them to your headset? Sometimes this can resolve button issues too. You can find a handy guide for doing this right here!
