Oculus 3S stuck on black screen

Hi there!  

 

Unfortunately, my son was playing a game on his Oculus 3S headset and it fell about 3 feet onto the floor because it fell off his head when he looked down.  Now, the screen is stuck on a black screen.  We have tried charging it fully, restarting power after 30 seconds, and holding down power + lower volume button, but nothing has changed the screen or fixed the issue.  The unit is relatively new, we bought them last December 2024.  How do I know if it can be repaired or if it is covered under warrenty?  Our prior Oculus units bricked themselves and were able to be repaired, but we had to send the units in and we did that.  

I am willing to pay for repairs if needed.  Hoping that we don't have to buy a brand new one.

      We checked in with support.  Warranty doesn't cover it.  They offered me a $200 refurbished one instead.  That's an option, we right now we are trying to repair it through Ibreakufix.  I haven't heard back from them yet.  I must say, these devices are delicate flowers.  Both the kids' prior oculuses bricked themselves onto black screens.  Now the Oculus 3S dies after a 3 foot fall.  Lasted 6 months with an 8 year old.  There's your quality control testing - LOL.
