Oculus Link Infinite Loading?

I've been using Quest + Link almost since release and it has been working just fine but now all of a sudden it has stopped working. It says on the oculus client that my Quest is active and ready to go. I put on the headset and enable oculus link. When I do that my screen goes black and then I'm stuck on an infinite loading screen. All I can see are the three moving dots and nothing else. I've tried reinstalling, repairing and restarting the oculus software but nothing has worked. Any help would be great
  • Hey guys, got another update. I finally got it working. The solution to my problem was to reinstall my Nvidia drivers. Hope this helps

Hey CadeIsHot! we'd love to get your Link capabilities back up and running properly, however, it is best done through a support ticket where you can submit log files for us to do in-depth research into your issue. Here are some steps to follow in order to collect your log files:

      1. Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
      2. Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
        • The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed the Oculus PC app to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
      3. Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
      4. Select "1 day" from the "Collect last" drop down list.
      5. Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
      6. The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop automatically.
      7. Attach the newly created zip file to your next support response.

Once you have your log files collected, please submit your support ticket through the link here: https://metaque.st/Support! When submitting your support ticket, please attach your log files so our Meta Store Support Agent can begin deep diving the issue! Also, please don't forget to mention all the troubleshooting steps you have taken to resolve the issue! We look forward to hearing from you via support ticket!

you should have an easier - to-find-support. It seems, that you don´t want to have tickets

  • This is the only thing that worked for me.

Open Nvidia control panel and change OculusDash.exe OVRServer_x64.exe Oculusclient.exe to run on Nvidia GPU instead of integrated. Open Oculus software on pc, go to settings - Beta - and very first option is Restart Oculus click on it and let it restart, done. After 3 months of having this problem, it works every time now. Hopefully it helps someone.

haha, glad it worked! I was reading all the posts saying "make sure quest uses your dedicated card" and i didnt think it applied to me, since i was under the impression that my Legion 7 was notorious for only using the dedicated card, thus being a battery hog with no way to stop it. Well color me surprised when i saw the AMD card in my device manager. I disabled it and then i worked! now I have to do that every time i want to play PCVR games. Im sure there is a setting somewhere.., but at least we got it working!

  • Update: For some reason I also have to have an external monitor plugged in to my laptop, or Oculus desktop view wont launch, I just get a black window in the white grid/matrix room. I have no idea why. Everything is set for all games and apps to use dedicated Nvidia card. But it won't!

Heya timothy.jan.atkins. We are aware of how distracting and non-immersive it can be, to have a dark window pop up while trying to game may be. We do see you stated in the thread that you were contacting our Support staff about the three dots loading and not doing anything.

We kindly ask that you either open a new ticket on our Support Website or continue communicating with the same agent you were already working with to help you fix this. By doing either of those, you'll receive better help with getting this new problem resolved.

We wish you luck and hope this can be handled quickly so you may return to gaming.

  • This time i REALLY figured it out. My legion wason hybrid mode. Turn that off (mux switch) and all is well.

  • ik this was a few years ago but did u use a wired or wiseless connection bcs im tyring that rn idk how to reinstall drivers but il do that soon

  • Connect the headset and phone via bluetooth. (+ the phone and Quest must be connected to the same Wi-Fi access point, say, both to 5 GHz). This helped me and I started broadcasting to my phone. Quest 3 v59.

  • Hey everyone! I just wanted to jump in here to note that I will be locking this thread. Since the original issue is pretty old, if you're having this issue now, it's likely the root cause is something different.

If you are having this or a similar issue now, please make a new post with plenty of details! You may also prefer to reach support directly, and you can do so here.
