Oculus quest 3 not turning or or charging.

Hi there.

My sons oculus quest 3 wont charge or turn on. We have tried holding down the power & volume buttons as suggested but nothing. There isn't any lights indicated when charger is plugged in & have tried several different chargers.

Please help.

  • If the quest won't charge or turn on, it's probably a battery or hardware fault. Note that the charger needs to be 18 watts to charge correctly.

If the battery is completely drained, it's believed there might be a safety cut-off that prevents charging. In which case, you can try blip-charging.

When I turn the charger on every now & again the fan fires for a second then stops but not every time I switch it on. The charger light doesnt light up either. I've been trying the blip charging thing you suggested but so far nothing has changed.

Maybe leave it charging for 2 or three hours even if the charge light isn't coming on and see what happens.

  • steve_40 has the right advice. Just a bit left of field here.. You've tried different chargers but have you tried a different wall socket? Only last week my new phone wasn't charging and I was trying different cables and chargers until I discovered the connectors in the wall socket were loose and only a trickle of power was going to it.  I changed the wall socket and all is OK! Probably not your situation but worth checking!

Thanks. Yeah we've tried all these things & still nothing.  Its been on charge all night & still the same outcome....put the charger in & fan sound for a second or two then dies out. Thinking a new battery at this stage might be where we're heading.

Uncle_Randy96  one thing...... have you fully shut down the headset by pressing the power button for 30 sec before you tried the blip charging thing? You can't bring enough charge to the battery with that method if the headset is on/sleepmode.
