Hi Tux.ate.your.phone, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention!

It looks like you're having some trouble with your Oculus screen only working when casting. We totally get that this can be a bit of a hassle and can mess with your gaming fun. We're here to help! At Meta, we're dedicated to offering our customers fantastic support. We're always happy to lend a hand and help you out with whatever situation you're facing.

If the Oculus screen only works when casting, it probably means there's an issue with the proximity sensor or a software glitch. But don't worry! Here are some steps to try:

    1. Check the Proximity Sensor:
The Oculus Quest uses a sensor to detect when the headset is on. If something gets in the way of the sensor or it's not working right, it might not register that you're wearing the headset. This could make the screen stay off.

To make sure everything works just right, please check that the facial interface is attached properly. Also, make sure the sensor isn't blocked by hair or the headset strap. You might want to try adjusting the head strap tightness and ensuring the facial interface is properly secured. You can also try cleaning the sensor with a microfiber cloth.

    2. Software and Network Issues:

    • Restart: If you're still having trouble, try restarting both the Oculus headset and the device you're casting to (e.g., your phone or TV). You can check how to restart your device here.
    • Software Updates: Make sure both your Oculus app and headset software are up to date. If you need a little help with this, you're more than welcome to check out how to Update the software for your Meta Quest.
    • Network: Ensure both the Oculus headset and the casting device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router.

And don't worry, we're here to help! If you keep having issues, please know that you can always reach out again. We're here for you and want to hear how you're doing!
