Online Software Update Tool Issues for Meta Quest 3

I am using the software update tool to update to the latest version of PTC manually, but the software that it provides does not appear any way in the official release notes. When I use the tool it offers up "2.8.0" as a software ready to download and install. When I go through the process and it shows that it has been successfully installed, the device does not show anything has been updated and the last software update's install date and version remains the same as it was before using the tool.

Any insight would be helpful. Have others experienced these same issues?

    reekotubbs​  if you use the Meta update tool, you will only get the newest update if it's your turn to receive it..... but in that case, you would it also receive it in the headset itself. The tool is for fixing issues, not to give you an update version Meta don't want to give you yet.😉

    You can try getting the newest update by following the steps in the video

    I was told by customer support that this is a future update that has not been fully rolled out. I wonder if others get the same result when attempting to do a manual update while in PTC.

        That's quite a jump into the future if it is 2.8 😄. Also, anomalous, because Meta always skips even numbers these days. I would expect 2.3, 2.5, 2.7 or 2.9 🤔.
