PC Link Passthrough Masking Issues After Meta Link Update

First, I noticed that the 'Beta' menu has disappeared from the Meta Link app.

The issue I am encountering involves a masking misalignment between 3D content and the real-world background in Passthrough mode. Specifically, there is an offset where a black silhouette protrudes upwards above the content.

I am aware that PC Link Passthrough is primarily intended for debugging purposes. However, this is a critical issue for us because our main content relies heavily on this feature.

Is there any solution or workaround for this

Solution was posted you have to add it back in the registry, Quest support has ceased caring this has been down for 3 + months and they auto close any tickets concerning Qpro now, Pretty sure support was laid off.

I'm experiencing the same issue and found this thread while looking for a cause, but I haven't been able to fix it yet. I really hope this bug gets patched soon.

I am using UE 5.6.1 and have integrated the v83.0 plugin (downloaded from the Meta website) into the Plugins folder of a fresh VR Template project. I set this up a few days ago, and it doesn't seem to be causing any compatibility issues with the Meta SDK.

Since it had been years since I first installed Meta Horizon Link, I decided to perform a clean reinstall as suggested in the linked post. I uninstalled the software, restarted my PC, and then downloaded and ran the latest installer from the Meta site.

However, when testing in UE again, the result was the same: a black gap appears between the passthrough and 3D objects (specifically only in the upward direction), preventing the CG from blending properly. Unfortunately, the reinstall didn't change anything.

  • The first Air Link connection after a reset works perfectly. However, the issues start to occur from the second connection onward.

  • The Quest 3 worked fine for a while after a factory reset, but now the issue has returned. It's quite frustrating. This problem only occurs specifically when using Air Link.

Try using the OculusDebugTool and disable Sliced Encoding and see if that fixes it.

It still won't recover, even after I applied the settings

  • I wish they would fix it so I don't have to constantly set the OpenXR Runtime Meta Horizon Link to default. It's been like that for maybe a couple years now.

  • Beta and other things have been borked since the recent update, truly wish there was a way to roll back for this kind of stuff.
