Pls help with horizon link

I downloaded the Meta Horizon Link update, and afterward, my third-party games disappeared. When I try to add them, I get the error "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later. (OVR53744741)

No path supplied (1971039)"

I guess you have to go into the Link app settings on your PC and specify the path to your game library. It's probably something like

      C:\Program Files\Oculus\Software

With newer installs, "Oculus" might be replaced with "Meta Horizon" or similar.

Same issue here, setting the library locations and refreshing doesn't fix the issue.

Trying to add the games one by one gives the same error (OVR53744741)

    "No path supplied(1971039)"

  • I'm getting the same error

("An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later. OVR53744741) No path supplied (1971039)"

I haven't found a solution to this problem yet.

      Run "Program Files/Meta Horizon/Setup.exe".

Choose the option to open the Meta Horizon Link app.

It should run some self-checks and repair itself.

I have the same issue and nothing above helped me. I also tried to add games on another PC and reinstall Windows (from 10 to 11). I think its just new version of Meta Horizon Link doesn't work properly. Maybe there is any way to download previous versions?

  • Same problem here:

I can not add City Car Driving game to library. 😠

Make sure you have added a library location to the app, and that the location is set as default.

  • Meta Horizon Link has been updated to version 201.0.0.73.547, but the developers are doing nothing to help those experiencing problems, as the issue persists.

Strange, I just got a Link update, but it is v85.0.0.239.552. Are you on the PTC?

Edit: actually, I just did some testing and I'm also getting the same OVR53744741 error when trying to add a game that is already installed on my PC (in a non-library location) to the Link library. I can, however, run the game from a Windows shortcut over Link/AirLink.

I'm not sure if adding to the library and running it via a Windows shortcut through Link/AirLink are the same thing.

My application version is as shown in the image.
        Meta Horizon Link Version 201.0.0.73.547

  • I closed PTC and the downgrade process was completed.

I'm adding the game exe files to the library step-by-step like this, but the error persists. How difficult can it be for developers to fix a bug?

  • why dont yall just use virtual desktop or steam link

oculus link was a piece of sh*t for the past 3 years or so, sure it runs better but thats only if you have a link cable for that..

Because Link/AirLink works great and gives better performance for many games. The bug is just an issue with adding games from unknown sources to the Link Library. These games can still be launched from a Windows shortcut or directly from the game's executable 🤷‍♂️. I have Virtual Desktop, it's great, but I still prefer using Link/AirLink if the game runs better. Steam Link is very meh, to be honest.

Is what you mentioned the same as adding a game to the Meta Horizon Link library?

I’m still having an issue adding games to the Meta Horizon Link library.

Could you briefly summarize the steps I should follow after putting on the Meta Quest 3? I’d like to try it as soon as possible.

The steps won't add the game to the Link library, but it will let you play the game in VR over a Link or AirLink connection:

      • start a Link connection from within the headset
      • once the Link dashboard has appeared, double-tap headset to enable passthrough so you can see the real world (e.g. your PC screen, mouse and keyboard)
      • on your PC, use Windows Explorer to locate the game exe file of any VR game that you would normally run through the Link dash (if it requires Steam VR, then make sure Steam is running on your PC first). E.g.

        E:\OpenMW_VR\openmw_vr.exe (Open Morrowind VR)

      • Double-click the executable file to run it (or if you have a windows shortcut, just run that instead)

      • Double-tap headset again to exit passthrough. The game should start up in VR just like it would if you had run it from the Link library.

Actually, you don't even need to use passthrough.

On the link dashboard is a desktop icon, when i tap on it, I have my computer screen and can use the touch controllers to double click on shortcuts or files or whatever I want on my computer.

  • I managed to run the game using the method you suggested.

Strangely, my game has also been automaticaly added to the Meta Horizon Link library.

    AirLink/Computer Desktop/MyApp.exe

However, there seems to be an anti-aliasing issue with objects like leaves and trees.

Setting the glasses to 120Hz and maximum quality improved it somewhat, but the problem persists. Is there a more practical way to solve the anti-aliasing issue?

The anti-aliasing issue in that game has nothing to do with the Link Library bug, though. Some VR games have horrible AA (Elite Dangerous is one of the worst), while some are great. Have you tried increasing the Render Resolution in the Link app device settings? Note that higher res can lower performance. I use 1.2x for most games, it works well with my RTX 3080.
