Problem with software update during setup

Hi, I just bought the meta quest 3 but during the setup, i cant get past the software update. its been updating for hours and i allready tried the factory reset and all other things but nothing works. is this normal or ? I already tried to do a side load update but on the meta site it says that my device isnt supported so i dont know what to do now.

      I followed all the steps but im still stuck at the same screen. The quest just turns on and off. It's just says that is is updating the latest sotware

        Captain2712  in that case, as you've already done everything you can, just return it to the retailer and  get a replacement unit or your money back.
