[PTC v2.4] Quest 3 — tracking lost every ~5 seconds after update

After updating to PTC v2.4, my Quest 3 has constant tracking issues. Every 5 seconds the headset loses room tracking — the view flickers and jumps, and it says it cannot determine position in the room. Before this update, tracking worked perfectly.

Steps I have already tried:

- Factory reset

- Cleared boundary history and redrew Guardian

- Cleaned cameras and proximity sensor

- Opted out of PTC

None of these helped. The issue started immediately after the PTC v2.4 update and is 100% reproducible.

Device: Meta Quest 3

Firmware: PTC v2.4

Please advise — is there a way to revert to stable firmware, or is a fix coming in the next build?

Blinchik228  Just to let you know, this is a user forum, no Meta employees here. You realize I am sure that when you are on the PTC program you are on untested software. Your headset is being used to find bugs. You should be reporting this issue through the bug reporting tool on the headset. Nobody from Meta will see this post. You should be aware that you may experience many bugs and problems while on PTC software. When it happens report the bugs to Meta rather than here.

Sorry, forgot to say, if you want to go back to v2.3 you will have to factory reset your headset.. Make sure your apps/games are backed up to the cloud first. There is never any guarantee by the way that you will revert to the older version.. Some people, like you, unfortunately, have reported that their headsets stayed on the PTC update.

As Maccyb123 said....if you and others report the bug, it - hopefully - get fixed soon.

It says when you opt out from PTC  and factory reset the headset, then you'll get the latest non PTC version.

However, I've often heard that users get stuck on the PTC version until the next build is released. ☹️

PTC = Phantom Tracking Chaos and Perpetually Troublesome Code.
