I am on the PTC v78 and this morning I had two flights, and when I got in the air I put on my Quest but travel mode was gone. I can't find it, and it doesn't seem to work automatically.
Did something change? Is there a different way to enable it?
I'm the same, I only realized there was no travel mode when I got on the plane. Middle finger to meta.
I can understand if this should not be a mainstream option, but at least allow it as an experimental feature!
It worked so well for me on my daily commute (by train).
Currently, I am forced to turn off tracking, which is not a nice experience as I can't use passthrough in this mode.
lurking_alpaca if you have the Virtual Desktop app, then there's a passthrough environment that still works with headset tracking off and you can use some apps with VD still running in the background. Or reduce the VD screen size and place it overhead or behind you.
Stupid answer. The travel mode can be used with VR applications on transportation, which is why we need it. Using VD or any direct application is essentially just a loophole, and is limited to 2D applications only.
It should not be understood that a feature that has already been pushed to the official version and has gone through several versions should not be removed, as it has no bugs and is actually useful. The removal was completely due to meta's operational errors and negligence, just like all bugs from V77 to V78.
Daisy_Lee I've just got V79 and the travel mode is back.
Im experiencing same issue but after doing some research the v78 update is supposed to auto detect when travel mode is needed. I havent tested this but i work offshore on a ship so i have to have travel mode to be able to play anything
Oilfield_Trash one option is to leave your headset on in standby mode and hope you gey an update that fixes the lack of travel mode. I lost it but it returned after an update.
