Quest 2 not allowing fresh connect

Question

Im trying to connect my quest 2 to my phone after a long while of it being unused, ive not had an issue with the quest 3s i have been using. The quest 2 would not connect and i followed all the troubleshooting methods i found online to try fix this. now when i try to enter my code its advising me "headset not found"

created a new meta account

connecting to pc (now it shows on my new account but wont allow anything else)

factory resetting

uninstalling and reinstalling app

attempting on 3 different devices 2 android 1 apple resetting my bluetooth connections on both

sideloading update (when performing this step the device wont stay in update mode long enough and loads up before update is installed i have attempted this more than once the highest it got to was 80%)

What exactly do you mean by "a long while"?
A month? A year? Two years? Did you always update Q2, even when it wasn't in use?

What I mean is...... if the Quest wasn't updated regularly, it might not be able to do the jump to the latest version at once. Maybe try updating it gradually, starting with an older version and then go up.
Just follow the steps in the video

Use the special ADB method in the video that Choleni​ posted. Your headset wasn't used in a year, so the software is too far out of date for the headset to work properly.

so a good while is around 10-12 months , and no it just sat on a shelf so no regular updates i didnt even give it a second thought because i was on the 3s but i thought it would be fun to pull it out for my friend to play just dance on alongside and encountered this problem

so ive tried updating an older version actually moved it on slightly going through the video tutorial on the quest 2, but it still is telling me i need to connect to my phone for update 2 of 2. "Pair with the meta quest app to continue".

so, the Quest 2 is now on v85?
If your phone app still shows the Quest 2 as paired, try it with another phone or&nbsp; a tablet.

I tried it on a different device still the same issue it just keeps telling me its not found
