Quest 2 Not Charging.

My quest 2 has been completely dead for 1-2 years and i finally have decided to try again. I have tried changing the cable to completely resetting it and it will not charge. I have tried with the charger it came with and a newer one. Yesterday, I got it to show up to the login screen but it died less than a minute after charging it for 2 hours. When i turn it on it just shows the dead battery icon. I think the battery needs replaced but i figured to come here as a last resort.

    Hey there,

We saw your post and wanted to lend a hand!

Coming back to VR after a 1-2 year break can be very exiting as so much can be added but it can be far from ideal when you've charged the headset and it stays on for 5 minutes then runs out of power. Did the Quest said it's fully charged(green light) after 2 hours???

I think, after such long time without charging 2 hours aren't enough.

Maybe try if blip charging can bring back life to the Quest...... if this helps, let it charge overnight.

I can confirm that I have left it on the charger over night and while at school. when I plug it in, the light doesn't even turn on. sometimes I'll get a flash of red but that's it. For the blip charging, I have already went down that rabbit hole of reddit posts and tried it. I'm not sure if I did it correctly but I have attempted to do it.

To me that means the battery isn't dead.

But I'm not an expert and unfortunately, i can't tell you how often you need unplug/plug in - or switching the socket on/off - to make it work.

I never need to do that🤷‍♀️

I think, you shouldn't stop the blip charging thing until you get a stable red light.
