Quest 2 not updating to latest software

I have 2 Quest 2's and one updated to 79.1032 but the other one is still at 79.1028. I've done everything suggested (leave it powered on and connected to Wi-Fi, on a flat surface and don't block internal sensor), but it's been a week and no update. Is there something else I should be doing?

    Thanks for the question, not to worry this is normal. We typically roll out updates in waves so it is normal that not every headset updates right away, your other Quest 2 will eventually receive the update but we wouldn't be able to provide a timeframe for this.

    Thanks for the question, not to worry this is normal. We typically roll out updates in waves so it is normal that not every headset updates right away, your other Quest 2 will eventually receive the update but we wouldn't be able to provide a timeframe for this.

  • You just have to wait until the Update Server Gods feel it is time to update your headset.

    This seems to dispell the myth that updates are rolled out regionally. In some posts Meta is vehement that updates are not done regionally.

    Yet at other times Meta will say a the updates may not be released for your region. Actually this may not be a contradiction as it seems some features are not available for some countries/regions.

      They're definitely not rolling out regionally.

      Other users in my country (Germany) are getting updates earlier than me.

      I always thought they were rolling out on an account-specific basis... my Quest 2 and Quest 3 are getting updates on the same day.

      But apparently there must be also other requirements if wdadlivr​  isn't getting updates for both devices at the same time.🤷‍♀️

        Hi Choleni, some of our users are part of the Meta Quest Public Test Channel (PTC). This is where they get early access to the unreleased software version ahead of the public release. For more information regarding this, please click here.

         

        When a new software version is available, the download button should appear. However, if this is not the case, you can use our software update tool to manually update your device. Our software update tool can be found on our website.

  • My Q3 headset is on v79.1027 and it says it is "up to date" 🤣.
