Quest 2 won't boot after updating to v79

Question

updated my quest 2 to the new firmware version a couple weeks ago and ever since i haven't been able to use it

every time i try to boot it up it shows a firmware update thingie with a progress bar that doesn't show any progress, and after that it get's stuck on a gray screen forever

i've tried literally every possible solution available on the internet, and contacting Meta support was of no use as well, the most they could do was offer me to purchase a refurbished Quest 2 (not a possibility for me since i just got this device secondhand)

i've tried sideloading every update v79's been getting but none of those seem to fix the issue

does anyone have any suggestions? i have lost all hope of playing with my quest 2

That's not good, I hope you get it resolved. Maybe when it goes to grey screen, leave it like that for a couple of hours and see if something happens ?? You didn't mention factory reset. Did you try that ?

i did try leaving the quest like that for a couple hours (almost a day even) but it didn't seem to help :(

also, yes, i've tried factory resetting it multiple times, but nothing seems to bring it back to life, guess i'll have to keep sideloading the new updates until one of them fixes it

There's no such thing as a "Repair" function on the Meta Update Tool, could you be more specific?I've tried reaching out to the support but it was of no help
