Quest 2 wont power on

Hello, My Quest 2 will not turn back on. The white light on the front is solid but the power or volume buttons dont seem to do anything. The screen is black. I've tried holding the power button down without success. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a hard reset combination I need to press?

  • To add, I wasnt doing anything out of the ordinary. My link cable came unplugged and after reinserting the cable and putting the headset back on there was no video.
  • hold the power button for a few seconds, keep in mind there is a sensor for when you take it off it will turn off the lcd.

    otherwise try the following:

    To perform a factory reset using your phone:

    1. Open the Oculus app on your phone.
    2. Tap Settings in the bottom menu.
    3. Tap the headset connected to your phone.
    4. Tap More Settings.
    5. Tap Factory Reset and then Reset.

    To perform a factory reset using the headset:

    1. Turn off your headset.
    2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
    4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

      When I turn on the quest it shows the USB Update Mode but when I press the power button it doesn’t do anything. It’s just stuck like that and it won’t connect to my phone or my controllers

        Unfortunately I have tried everything and contacted support directly and I need to send my brand new quest back  I have requested a full refund as a replacement will be a refurbished one

    Just got my brand new quest 2 and it won't turn on at all. Plugged the charger in and no lights at all. The charger is working cause it will charge my phone. But nothing from the quest........

      Hi Morbria! We can understand how this can put a damper on your new Quest 2. No worries, we're here to help out and get you into gaming! We'd like you to use the charger and cable that came with your Quest 2 and let it charge for at least 2 hours. If it still won't power on, please try the following:

      • Try a different cable and charger.
      • Gently remove the facial interface from the headset and charge that way.
      • Remove any third-party accessories from the headset if you have any and charge that way.
      • Try charging from another outlet.

      Have the same problem with my brand new one. Bought it brand new still in packaging from a friend and having the exact same problem

  • Yea mine is doing that too but idk what to do about it I have don’t every thing

  • Try to hard reboot (hold the power button for 30 seconds). My brother had the same problem.
