Quest 3 Battery low No warning ?

So i was in Steamlink to the PC watching a movie in bigscreen with a friend and well the headset just shutdown , low battery , i checked my power settings and it says that its going to give a battery low warning and also a voice warning both are ticked but yet no warning no notification at all , just a shutdown , i don't know if this is a common issue or  perhaps that feature does not work when using Steam link ?

Just thought it was rather strange , i admit i dont get a flat battery very often so i cant say that it happens all the time, but just this once was inconvenient as if i had known it was getting low i could have plugged it in rather then having the people i was connected with loose the stream i was sharing .

I also have an external battery pack but sometimes when i plug that in it says some weird stuff about water in the usb socket when theres no water any where near the socket which perhaps is due to low charge on the external battery pack as it does not seem to happen when the external battery pack is fully charged.

  • Ok, what might have happened are two possibilities. Firstly if you were watching a movie because there is audio playing it prevents the low battery warning message from appearing, though I can't be sure, or possibly it did warn you but due to the soundtrack of the movie you didn't hear it, and didn't notice the low battery warning on the screen?  Is it possible. I don't use steam link so you might be right that it stops the warnings. The water or debris in the USB is a well known problem that are people reporting recently after connecting to the pc. That's a bug and maybe no low battery warning is a bug too. Are you using the approved updates or using the v81 PTC software? If you're using it , there's more chance of getting bugs.

  • Hi starhorizon70 πŸ™‚

I don't think Steam Link hinders the headset from giving you the warnings.

Probably Maccyb123 is correctπŸ‘ and you've simply overheard/overseen the warning.

I haven't had a really low battery yet, so I don't know how it sounds,

But if it is the same tone that I get when my battery pack is empty and the headset  won't get charged anymore......that's just a little "peep". I've overheard that countless timesπŸ˜…

Maybe check it out by going on Steam Link - doing some boring things , so you are not disracted πŸ™ƒ-  when you know the warnings should come soon.

So, I had this low battery warn sound now -  it's even more quiet than my warn sound from the additional battery.
I was in pause menu of a game when it happened...... otherwise I had never heard it.

Actually, a warn sound that is so quiet doesn't make any sense to me, and the popup is small and it disapears after a few seconds.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

starhorizon70 I'm pretty sure, you simply haven't noticed both warnings while watching a movie.
