Quest 3 crazy aliasing and poor image quality

Meta quest 3 512GB

In all games I see that there is something wrong with the picture, it just looks terrible, it doesn't matter if it's standalone or PCVR, the problem is even in the main lobby, watch the video (preferably on a large monitor and in full-screen mode)

Is this the case for everyone and everyone has come to terms with it, or do I have a defective Quest? The thing is that the seller has already sent me a quest with this problem 3 times

Don't pay attention to the black bars, this is due to the phone's camera. But aliasing is clearly visible in real use

  • I don't see any aliasing artefacts in that (rather terrible) video. All I see are trees moving in the wind. The anti-aliasing on the edges is actually very good.

Fun fact: you can use the camera app in your headset to record what you see in VR. Just don't use your phone smh.

This is a display/or lens issue, so there will obviously be no issues when recording through the helmet itself, since the problem is in the lenses/display recording through a phone

The video clearly shows that the leaves on the tree are flickering extremely strongly, the video is of fairly good quality, you may need to force 1080p quality to see this, and view it from a large diagonal display

If there is something wrong with the lens or display and the supplier sent you three replacement quests, they might be sending back the same quest. Lol. It's definitely not the case for everyone. I've never seen it. Who did you buy this from ?  I can't imagine an official Quest supplier sending you 3 defective ones.  I'm not making a joke here, but is it possible you have an eye problem? Looking at the video, there are no artifacts and the tree is just shaking in the wind.  Did you check for scratches or smudges on the lenses ? You should record it properly on the headset. If the problem is with the display itself you will see on the headset recording.

  • has any body around you tried this headset to conferm the problem and how many other brand vr units have you experenced to call these 3 headsets faulty? and the only vr that is as good as a monitor is pretty pricey

Agreed. It would be a good idea if the OP has any friends that have a Quest 3 (or experience with VR), to let them try on his headset and give their opinion. It's so unlikely that all 3 of his headsets with different serial numbers would all have exactly the same fault. I suspect the OP may have unrealistic expectations. I would really like to hear his feedback about the video I linked to earlier, though. He describes the fault as an aliasing effect, but says the fault is in the panels or lenses. However, the LCD panels in the Quest do not do aliasing, that is a GPU thing. I think the OP is noticing the slight screen-door effect, which is perfectly normal.

Unfortunately, I don't have any friends with QUEST 3, I tried Oculus Rift S a year ago and everything seemed completely normal to me. Therefore, I don't think there is any problem with inflated expectations, everything just looks really awful, it is impossible to get aesthetic pleasure from such a picture, in half life alyx everything looks bad , even in a game with simple graphics, SUPERHOT VR  looks bad.

It would be great, could you please record it? So if that's not a lens issue, what is that issue?

It would definitely be helpful for people if you can record it. Someone from support should see it directly.
