quest 3 keeps turning back on.

Everything seems fine so far, but when I charge the headset to 100%, take it off the charger, and turn it off, The headset turns back on and,  by the time I come back to use it,the headset is completely dead. then I have to charge it again and wait for hours before I can use it. What’s going on, and what can I do to fix this?

Possibly you have auto-update enabled. The current software update (v78.1028) is borked and causing the headset to go into an update loop. Go into Settings->General->Software Update and turn off all the settings until the issue gets resolved (knowing Meta, it will probably take several weeks).

    Hey FakedHanes !

We came across your post and wanted to lend a hand!

If this issue has only started happening recently, it could be because your device is stuck in an update loop.

In order to try and fix this issue, please perform a forced update using our Software Update Tool:

    1. Back up data. Use cloud backup to ensure your device’s app data, like app progress or app settings, is saved in the cloud.

    2. Power off your device. Press and hold the Power button located on the right side of the headset to power off your device.

    3. Load the boot screen. Press and hold both the Power and Volume Down buttons until you see the USB Update Mode Menu. When you see the USB Update Mode Menu, release the Power and Volume Down buttons immediately.

    4. Select Sideload update. On the boot screen, use the Volume buttons to navigate to Sideload update. Then press the Power button to select it. Once selected, remove your headset.

    5. Load the software update tool. On a computer, load the software update tool webpage using a compatible web browser (Chrome, Edge, or Opera).

    6. Connect your device. Use the USB-C cable that came with your device to connect it to the computer. If you’re using an Elite Strap, ensure the cable is connected to your headset and not the strap. Then click the "Connect device" button on the tool's webpage.

If, after trying this, the issue persists, please get in touch with us privately here (just make sure you're logged in first!), or via our email support channel, which is linked here

    Have a great day!
