I have exactly the same problem. Meta replaced the batteries under warranty and the replacements are worse than the battery packs that came with the Meta Docking Station. When I use conventional AA batteries everything works fine. Huge waste of money buying the Meta brand. I have friends with after market docking stations that have no issues at all.

Try a tiny bit of paper folded a few times and place between battery cover and battery. I've only used it a few times yet but it seems to have helped.
Placing a washer between the battery contacts seemed to make no real difference. The real issue is between the three little pogo springs under the battery - there just is too much play and these can get lose in fast movement / slight hits such as tapping controllers together.
There's no denying that it's poor manufacturing / testing by Meta, which is a shame as everything else about it is great.

Hi SpiraTech 🙂
Aren't the three little pins only necessary for charging the battery?
I thought they aren't important while playing at all.🤔

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work without them from my testing. I haven't measured voltages or anything but there's a fair bit going on with these batteries - and they work awesome when they don't disconnect. The paper is holding up so far.
I guess a 1.56 trillion USD worth company needs a bit of paper to keep their consumer devices going properly ;).

Good suggestion. What I have found is that the original battery for the left controller works okay and the replacement battery for the right controller seems to work okay. If the issue pops up again I will try the paper shim under the controller cover. There is definitely a design/manufacturing issue with the controller battery packs. Otherwise, the docking station works very well.

Ah, you've jogged my memory. Someone posted a few months ago about Meta rechargeable battery packs needing a bit of foam or paper taped to the inside of the battery cover to keep the batteries pushed into place. The washer or aluminium foil solution I suggested is for regular rechargeable batteries, not the Meta ones.
