FluffyLittleBunny I'll loan you my glasses. There are loads of posts on here and reddit about the implementation of the update rollout.

Same, others getting v72 and I'm still v71. Is this how Meta updates?
Is this how Meta updates?
Yes, updates are rolled out gradually, not to all users at the same time.

The firmware archive seems to be PTC versions. The archive is touted as having the latest versions but none of them matched or were higher than what was in my headset for v71. It just updated to v72 yesterday.
Usually you just have to wait until the staggered updates reaches your headset. Meta is adamant that the rollouts are not done by region. So using a VPN to change your region may not work.

Last I heard the v72 rollout was on hold until the update problem that can leave your headset unusable is solved.
Be thankful you are stuck on v71 and not having a bricked headset.

Meta announced on Jan 22 that v72 updates were rolling out that fix the install/update problem. From what I read or saw on youtube the problem was with Android that could corrupt files during read/writes. If that's the case I would have expected to problem to have manifested itself earlier and also on other Android devices.
But then Meta Quest headsets are on Meta Horizion OS now, right?
