Update on this: I was initially going to buy one of the cooling fan interfaces, but I changed my mind because of the extra battery and likelihood of poor compatibility/comfort.
Instead, I bought the Razer Facial Interface for Meta Quest 3. It doesn't have a fan for air circulation, but it has a couple of specially designed vents to dissipate heat from inside the interface while still blocking light. That and the contoured silicone gasket make all the difference: I no longer feel my headset heating up in my face, the lenses don't fog, and forehead sweat hardly enters my eyes during workouts.
I wouldn't say that the facial interface makes the headset sweatproof--I honestly can't tell if there is some sort of design trick to keep sweat from entering the device vents--but it does make it significantly more usable for longer periods and with performance-heavy apps. I'm still being precautious about exercising with my replacement headset: now I always dry off the interface when I have a chance to pause, because I am definitely not wanting to kill the replacement the same way I killed my original.
