Quest 3S bricked/stuck in USB Update Mode

This is quite unfortunate and I don't really know what can be done in my position, so I guess I'm just gonna put it out there to see if there's any hope. I have just purchased a used Quest 3S Xbox Special Edition off of a third-party, and as it turns out it's stuck in the USB Update Mode and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it. All the options in the menu simply lead to the headset turning off and booting back up to the same exact screen. There's no option to change the partitions and the bootloader is locked. Is there anything left for me to do to maybe bring it back to life?

You can try using the update tool.... from what I've seen, it won't work, though.☹️

This is what you get, when you search the forum for your issue. No solution, other than get it replaced by Meta or buy a new/refurbished one.

I know, it's used...... but if you have the chance, give it back to the seller and get your money back.

Yeah I hate to say it, but this is a known issue where most people get a replacement or request a repair. Of course, I am not a support agent, so contact them directly.

    Hope the update tool works!

        Hi peoplebl 🙂

If you have just purchased the headset, bring it back to where you bought it and get another device or get refunded.

If it's not that new but still under warranty, reach out to support via email, chat or WhatsApp HERE to get it replaced.

In case, you can't give back the headset.....

If you fell confident enough to do that, you can try if disconnecting the headset battery from the PCB can bring the Quest out of this loop.

There are lots of videos - i.g. from fix my Oculus - which shows you how to do that.
