Firstly, check your Windows graphics advanced settings and make sure Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is disabled.
Next, see this thread here, where I wrote detailed tips on running HL Alyx:

The problem is that I want to play via a cable, since I bought a good one that also charges the headset, and honestly, it’s just more convenient for me to use it. I disabled Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling back when I was trying to fix Quest Link. Is there really no way to play via a wired connection? As far as I know, Steam Link doesn’t support it. ALVR, by the way, didn’t solve the problem for me either — it’s an inconvenient app.

You can still connect to PC wirelessly and have a charge cable connected to the Quest battery or external battery at the same time 🤷. I get no improvement in performance playing wired vs wireless, and I’m using an old wifi 5 router.
