Quest Link software stuck on gray screen

Title says it all. Been using a Rift S for a long time now and its served well other than the occasional hiccup here and there. However, I have been locked out of using my Rift S because every time I start up the Link software it gets stuck on a blank gray screen and nothing helps it. Repairing the app, uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting the pc, everything. Nothing works and it just happened out of the blue. Two days ago I was playing VTOL VR perfectly fine and now I can't even boot up the software let along actually get the headset to work. Meta support has basically told me to shove it as none of their "help links" work, and the site doesn't recognize Rift serial numbers so I'm dead in the water here and cant afford to spend another few hundred dollars on a new headset. Can someone PLEASE help fix this issue?

    There was a QuestLink update a couple of days ago, maybe that's the problem. Perhaps you could try using System Restore to revert your Windows OS to an earlier restore point (from 1 or 2 weeks ago), assuming you have a suitable restore point available. You could always "undo" that restoration if it doesn't fix the problem. But assuming it does fix it, immediately go into your QuestLink settings and disable automatic updates. You will need to stick with that version of QuestLink until you eventually ditch your Rift S.

    And you are right ... non Quest users have no chance going the usual support way.
