Quest menu bar and menu tabs disappearing and not reappearing after some short time.

Hello! I have discovered a problem with my Quest 2 where not only is the device taking a longer amount of time to load up to the menu, but I simply cannot play anything because everything in the Quest 2 home disappears after a few minutes and nothing seems to be interactable within that time where the menu appears. I have no choice but to cut off the device. I've attempted to mess around in the Quest home but nothing is reappearing and I've to restart and even boot the device multiple times, but nothing changes and I've ran out of options on how to attempt to fix it. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey there jjjeesssss13! Missing menus is kind of a big deal. We would love help you out how we can. We appreciate you attempting those steps and letting us know. We have notice a few users have been factory resetting their device and seems it get the experience back! 

    Please try the following: 

    1. Turn off your headset.
    2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
    4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

    Please also remember to check if your cloud backup is on to make sure your data is safe! After the factory reset, please use your mobile device to setup the headset again and let us know if the menu issues are still there. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

  • Hey everyone! I am still seeing this being a issue even after Factory reset. I am still checking in with our engineers about this and I do recommend submitting a bug report in the meantime. When I get an update I will make sure to let you know!

        Hello there! Thank you for reaching out regarding the experience you're having. Please try the solution we have for this and if the issue persist please submit a bug report! One of our mods is looking into this as well so incase of any update you can revisit the thread!

  • It's been a week of several people not being able to so much as press buttons as far as I'm aware, but I'm still gonna reply here so that I can get notified if it finally gets fixed.

    I don't think anyone's added this, so... does anyone else hear default music while they're unable to so much as spawn their menu in?

  • Hi, So I wanted to get help as I am surprised to see when I log on my Quest 2 I have no menu, nothing and when I try top open it with my controller I just hear the sound but nothing on the screen. Same when I try to open a bar directly via my phone. But the most surprising thing is when I double tap on the button on/off of my quest the screen reload and I get a glimpse of the menu for like 0.5 sec and I can interact with it but it disappear imediately and impossible for me to re open it. If anyone could help me it would be nice 🙂

  • Can the users with this issue let me know what headset version you are currently on? Version 57 should remove this issue however, I need to know what headset version you are in.

      Hey there! Seems you are having issues with your device and is not the experience we want you to have with us. Would you say your menu bar is missing? Or all the apps you had? Please also let us know if you have tried any steps like rebooting or restarting the headset.

  • Is this issue resolved ? I am having same problem. It often occures, I have to quit and re-start the bigscreen each time. Its annoying !!

  • Same problem with quest 3. Repeating problem. Tried everything.  Restart,  factory reset, proximity sensors ok, charge full. The problem repeats itself at least once a day. Some times at the beginning of the session, sometimes after 30 minutes of use for no apparent reason. Total garbage...

  • This just started happening to me after it had updated. I was trying to figure out how to launch No Man's Sky, so I had restarted the headset a few times. The last time I did before the issue started I got a small update. Then I found my way here and tried to factory reset it. I can't even do that because the menu disappears as soon as I let go of the power and volume down buttons. Please help.

  • On my headset some things disappearing and the universal menu keeps appearing and disappearing so it gets annoying fast I have found a way to counter but I have to turn of the wifi which I can't really do anything with wifi off. I reported this bug but nothings happened yet
