Question Cash not sending

Hi I uploaded a gift card for my son, I can see it in my quest cash but every time I try and send Quest cash to him it tells me something went wrong and to contact customer support. This has been going on for week and can’t get to contact anyone direct and ‘help articles’ don’t cover this

    Hello MDJSunstar,

We see that you are running into some problems when it comes to sending you son Quest Cash as you keep running into an error message and we would be more than happy to see how we could help.

Since your son's account likely has parental controls, you cannot directly send Quest Cash to him, as the gift card funds are on your account. Instead, you must use your funds to purchase the game or content he wants after he requests it.

Why you cannot send Quest Cash to a child's account.

Meta's parental controls prevent a child's account from having a balance that they can spend freely. This is why you are seeing the "something went wrong" error, the system is blocking the transfer for a user with restricted permissions.

How to use your gift card funds for your son

    1. Your son requests the purchase: From his headset, your son must initiate a request to buy the specific app or content he wants.
    2. Approve the request: You will receive a notification of his request on the Meta Horizon app on your phone.
    3. Use your Quest Cash to buy the item: After you approve the request, you can complete the purchase using the gift card funds that are already in your wallet. The game will then be added to his account.

We hope this answers your question!

      Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to us!

There's a few reasons why this issue is occurring. The first reason being that the issue may come down to the fact that certain games have a restriction put in place when it comes down to buying that games additional content, basically meaning certain games will only let you either buy their add-on content with Quest cash or real money. Another reason that Gorilla Tag would restrict the account from making a purchase is due to the fact that the account would be a parent managed account, that means the child account has no way of holding onto any type of currency. We will provide a link to a public article with the restricted permissions that parent managed accounts have put onto them in case that helps.

We hope this helps and if you need any further assistance please let us know!

  • Hi thank you for getting back to me, I think the issue is that it is an in game Gorilla tag purchase and when he tries to buy it from the ATM he has no credit and the purchase option is not available to him
