Yeah that's a bit negligent/ignorant.Its possible you could make progress by disconnecting the headset's battery for a while - a bit like cmos for pc - but to get to it would be a mission from what I have seen in tear-downs.However Meta should be able to tell you where the upgrade is stored waiting for applying and then have an official means of deleting or resetting it. Perhaps that can only be done by a technician however and it seems they would rather just swap it for another rather than fix it? and have the customer pay for it regardless.&nbsp;😠My sympathies. Meta are kind of a useless company or so I have discovered.. and then they wonder why VR doesn't have as many customers as they would like....Do you have a small claims court where you live? Even if Meta don't want to show perhaps they will be prompted to reach a better settlement say a refurb for $170 ??? Good luck.

3dspace&nbsp;Whilst getting to the main battery connector is a bit fiddly, it's not impossible. Good call on the fix my oculus suggestion. They could even be pointed in the direction of this thread and may have some suggestions on a fix or be interested in getting the headset for a future video.

Hmmm well that's disappointing. 5 mins would have been enough had the update been held in a volatile memory. I would leave aside poking around inside yourself now - too easy to damage stuff.Have you contacted the fixmyoculus guys in regard of what they believe can be done to delete the pending update even if it is by them? I'm not sure if they just replace parts or they have a decent knowledge of the circuits but it's worth a try.I figure you really need the help of someone who understands how Meta have put together the code and where stuff is stored.... so maybe there is a developer who can help you but that's probably not a realistic expectation.At this point and given you have also been messing with the firmware yourself and perhaps accidentally compounded the issue I am inclined to think the easiest thing is to agree to a refurbished headset and haggle over the price if you can - or try the small claims route.&nbsp;I am sorry I don't know enough myself to assist you further - I haven't pulled apart my headset or viewed the code - and unless the fix is something really simple this is potentially going to take a lot of someone's time to explore and remedy, perhaps more than you are willing to pay for, or makes sense.

I (partly) disassembled the Quest and after taking off the bluetooth antenna I got to disconnect the battery and left it disconnected for about five minutes. I reconnected the battery and started the device - the problem persists, it goes into the infinite firmware update loop 😞 How long should the battery remain disconnected?

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I contacted fixmyoculus, and am currently waiting for a response, it's my last hope. If everything else fails, I'll make a youtube video of me smashing the device with a hammer... maybe that will draw some attention.
