Referral credit not working

I was sent a referral link to purchase a Quest 2. 
Then i used the link and it ask me to create my Oculus account etc.

When i go to my profile on this site, i could not find the referral credit or a confirmation about receiving the referral, and when i try to use my link again, it said i already used a referral link to this account. Why didn’t I receive the credit?

  • Hi there, Axolotlgaming23! We love hearing that you enjoyed your Quest headset enough to refer a friend. Part of the qualifying criteria for a referral is that the device must be new; it cannot be refurbished or have been registered previously on another account. Due to this criteria not being met, this would be the reason a referral credit was not received. 

    As a reminder, the criteria needed to be met in addition to the steps for sending a referral are:

    • To make a referral, customers must have a registered Quest 2, Quest 3, or Quest Pro.
    • The recipient's Meta account cannot already be associated with any Meta Quest devices.
      • Older Oculus devices (such as the Oculus Quest 1) should not make a referral ineligible.
    • The referral recipient must be registering a new Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, or Quest Pro.
      • The device must be new, not refurbished, and not previously registered to another account.
    • Both accounts must be in a Meta Quest supported country.
      • They don't need to be from the same country.
    • Both the referrer and the recipient must be at least 18 years old (19 in South Korea).
    • The referral code must be applied before setting up the new Quest device.

    Hello!

    I've sent reflink to my friend but because of problem with his mail we haven't received reflink credit. Could you please check why? 

    It's really important for me because I'm really glad with my quest but it was a huge gift for my friend and because of that I hope you can add reflink account to her account.

        I'm having the same problem all of these other people are. I sent the referral link to my nephew and he has just purchased a brand new quest 2 directly on my recommendation and he clicked on it before he set up the device but this is all he gets. Although I will say, it was only luck that he clicked on it beforehand. That is one incredibly important detail that I feel should be more easily findable. Considering how many people have this problem and how obscure criteria are for actually getting the referral bonus are, I'm questioning whether it actually exists or if it's just hog wash. I mean I feel like I have to have a lawyer to interpret them. I feel like if this many people are having this problem, maybe the problem is the source, right? "We have this great bonus for being a loyal customer and bringing other customers in! Oh but you didn't meet subsection 2 of point five of the criteria list that wasn't posted on the main page, so sorry you can't have the bonus then. Good luck and thanks for bringing the new customer in anyway!"

      • Is the referral a game referral, or is it a quest referral?
      • Is the person you are sending the link to 18+ (19+ in South Korea)?

  • i think its quite dumb

    so if my friend sends me a link and i click it after i already set up my quest 2 do we get nothing?

    if so i think the blue bar has to be more specific, it said "you'll both get 30$ meta quest store credit AFTER they activate their headset"

    what im understanding from the sentence is that after i set up my headset i have to click the link and i get the store credit.

    Here are some factors that can be preventing getting your credit:

     

    • Please make sure you have activated your device. Your credit won't applied in till your headset is activated.

    • The new account cannot already be associated with a Meta Quest product. So if your device is refurbished you won't be able to receive your credit. 

    • Make sure you have a Quest or Quest 2 connected to a Facebook connected account. 

    • Make sure that you and the friend who referred you are both from the same country.

      Hi - I have the exact same issue as above. I have everything set up but my referral code sent to my friend doesnt work.  Can you help?

        so basically ur friend sent u the link before u connected ur meta account to ur quest, appearantly u have to click on the link ur friend sent u BEFORE u make an account and BEFORE u connect it to ur headset wich is dumb as hell

        Hey hey gamingborrito! I know how awesome VR is, and being able to get some credit for sharing that with a friend is always a great benefit! I'm happy to provide some more insight into the referral process.

        As long as you and the friend you referred meet the requirements that MetaStoreHelp shared earlier in this thread, you should be able to receive those referral credits.

        In order for the referral program to work correctly and to get the credit, you and your friend will need to make sure you completed the following steps:

        • Send your friend your referral link.
        • Your friend opens the link, and they either log in to their Meta account or create a new one.
        • Your friend then purchases a new Quest 2 from any retailer.
        • Once your friend activates their headset on the Meta account they used when following your link, the referral credits should be applied to both accounts. 
          • Please note that the credits can take up to 7 days after activation to show up on your accounts.

        If you followed this process and still don't see any credits on either account after 7 days, then you're going to want to send a PM to MetaStoreHelp so they can pull up both accounts and take a closer look. I hope this helped!

      I sent a referral to my cousin today and i helped him set up his quest 2 that he bought today, but neither of us got the credit. The only difference between ours and the list is that he used an email rather than facebook. Please can you let us know if there is a way we can still get the credit because his headset is set up now so we cannot try again.
