Rift S Cable

So basically I have had this Rift S for a good period and I still enjoy the clarity and comfort. I haven't wanted tj upgrade but now it seems the rift doesn't hold up, it keeps buzzing with a loud beep and then goes to black, then the audio quality is much worse. I've done numerous testing and research on forums, community groups and reddit to no avail. Does meta still sell a replacement to the rift S cable? If not then I can't see what else to do.

Unfortunately, you can no longer purchase replacement parts for the Rift S on the Meta website.
You can contact support, they may still have cables in stock... but I doubt it.
    Send a PM to @MetaQuestSupport.
Click on the name and then click "Send Message."

Other option is buying a used cable on eBay.

That's a bummer as I dont see the point in the quest options, I primarily sit down for VR due to mobility issues and I can't deal with the battery life being so terrible, then having to get up and charge. That's why I kept with the rift s.

You can use head straps with additional batteries for the Quest.

There are hot-swappable head straps, so you can use multiple batteries to extend the Quest's battery life.

You don't have to get up, you don't even have to take off the headset to do that.

  • Know I'm a bit late here but I contacted Meta support and after making me confirm my serial number, prove that I purchased it a long time ago via invoice. πŸ˜‘... they told me

"we regret to inform you that the Rift S replacement cable is currently out of stock and unavailable through our official channels. We understand this may be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

As an alternative, we kindly suggest checking reputable second-hand marketplaces or electronics retailers online, where replacement cables may still be available."

I went a bought one from ebay for $200 πŸ˜‘

Figured I'd post this here so people see this from google (as I did) and can know that they don't have these in stock any more.
