We noticed your post and we would love to lend a hand! So to get you back into the Metaverse with us lets try out some troubleshooting.
First thing we would like you to try is to Manually Uninstall and Reinstall the Meta Horizon Link app.
To manually uninstall then reinstall the Meta Quest Link app from your device:
- Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer
- Disconnect your computer from the internet
- Backup any content.
- Learn how to back up your content in our Help Center.
- Reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
- Learn how on this page.
- Uninstall the Meta Quest Link app using the Control Panel.
- Learn how on this page.
- Delete all Oculus folders from the folder called C:\Program Files.
- Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
- C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
- C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
- Note: The AppData folder is usually hidden. Use these steps to access AppData.
- Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog window.
- Type %AppData% in the Run box and click OK or press Enter
- File Explorer will launch to the AppData\Roaming subfolder.
- Click AppData in the File Explorer address bar to show all three subfolders in the AppData location.
- Restart your computer in normal mode.
- Reconnect your computer to the internet.
- Install the Meta Quest Link app again using the setup tool from our website
- Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset

Hi!
I'm having the same problem with my Rift.
It started with a message about an update appearing in META. After the update, the system keeps telling me to install drivers. During the process, it says an unexpected error occurred.
I tried following your instructions, but it didn't help.

We've just come across your comment regarding the issue you are having with PCVR and the Meta Quest Link app. We appreciate you having carried out the suggested troubleshooting steps, as we want to get you back into the world of VR as soon as possible. Please ensure your PC meets the minimum requirements for PCVR.
Please attempt the following:
- Restart the Meta Quest Link app
- Restart the computer
- Repair the Meta Quest Link app
To run a repair:
- Download and run the Meta Quest Link app installation software
- You will see a screen which says, "Already Installed"
- Click the "Repair" option and confirm again on the next screen

Thank you for your quick response. My computer meets the specifications and has been working great with the Rift for four years. The problem arose over the weekend with an update. Following your recommendations for dave76.2023, I uninstalled the Meta app as instructed and attempted to reinstall it by downloading the latest installation file.
The application downloads the installation files and begins the installation process at C:\Program Files\Meta Horizon\ and at the very end of the installation displays the following message:
Restart your computer. An error occurred during installation. Restart your computer and try running the Link installer again. If problems persist, contact Quest support.
I've already tried reinstalling over 10 times.
