Roomscale boundary not working on PC link

Hey all!
I’ve noticed recently that my Quest 2 will not keep the roomscale boundary active when I connect to my PC. I have already cleared the boundary history/cache with no luck.

It lets me set up a new boundary in the quest, but when I activate link it’s In stationary mode again. When I move outside of it, the “would you like to switch to roomscale?” dialogue box no longer exists and I just get a “would you like to move here” box which just moves my stationary boundary. Hopefully this is just a bug and they didn’t actually remove this feature of seamlessly switching between roomscale/stationary!

Yes, I tried switching while linked up and it had no effect unfortunately. Have they removed the “switch to roomscale” option that pops up when you leave the boundary?

        I don't mean "switch".

Create a boundary in your Meta link settings.

        I don't have that issue, so I don't believe it's removed.

There was an issue while ago that the roomscale boundary always switched to stationary boundary when a game was opened.

Maybe it's something similar? I would try if creating a boundary in the link settings can solve the problem for you.

  • If the roomscale boundary isn't working on a PC Link for your Meta Quest headset, try clearing the boundary history, redrawing the boundary, rebooting the headset, and checking for any software or hardware conflicts. If those steps don't resolve the issue, a factory reset might be necessary.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    Clear Boundary History and Redraw:
Open the universal menu by pressing the Meta/Oculus button on your right controller.
Select the clock on the left side of the menu to open Quick Settings.
    Go to Settings, then Boundary.
    Select "Clear Boundary History".
Redraw your boundary by selecting "Adjust Boundary".
    Reboot the Headset:
    Turn off the headset completely.
Hold the power and volume (-) buttons simultaneously until the boot screen appears.
Use the volume buttons to navigate to "Boot device" and press the power button.
    Select "Yes" to confirm.

. Check for Software and Hardware Conflicts:

Make sure no third-party accessories are interfering with tracking or pairing.
Ensure your play area is well-lit and free of obstructions.
If using Steam Link, verify that the issue isn't specific to Steam Link by testing with other PC VR setups.
Consider disabling developer settings, specifically the boundary, if experiencing issues with switching between standing and seated experiences.
    Factory Reset (if needed):
If other troubleshooting steps fail, a factory reset may resolve the issue.
This will erase all data on the headset, so back up any important information.
Follow the instructions provided by Meta Store for performing a factory reset.
    Other potential solutions:
If the boundary appears stationary when it should be roomscale, toggle the boundary setting in the quick menu after launching a game.
Try changing the tracking origin from LOCAL to STAGE or LOCAL_FLOOR, or disabling recentering.
Check for system updates for your headset.

If the issue persists, consider contacting Meta Store support for further assistance.
