sumsar158 I have the Quest 3s on V2.1 and I have no issues with screen tearing. 4 other friends in a small local group here don't have it either. It could be a problem with the device or a faulty software update on your headset. If it was a general bug, we would all have it. Follow the suggestions of steve_40 and Choleni and report the bug, through the system so Meta engineers can see it.
and like 8 people have confirmed having this exact issue on the linked posts

8 people should then report their issues through the bug reporting system. There are millions of Quest 2, 3, and 3s users without the problem. This is why your first step should be a bug report so the Meta software people can either send a fix to your specific device or advise on headset repair or replacement, if there is a more serious issue.

i can confirm this issue on ptc 2.1 without navigator, started on last 2 updates. On the discord channel of virtual desktop other guys have the same issue, not a hardware fault. Someone are suspecting like me that is a bug ralated to the framesync feature, but it's only a dubt. this bug affect all apps on desktop mode, youtube and other, not on immersive mode.

Dadoreverend I saw that discord discussion. Not very many complaints on there either,, some of them might be the same people here. If it was a general software issue, we would all have the same problem. We don't. So, two possibilities when so few people out of millions of users are experiencing this, are firstly a glitched software update on some devices that is only effecting those devices, or a hardware issue. Personally I think the hardware issue is unlikely as we're talking about Quest 2 and Quest 3s, so the most likely is a faulty software update to some headsets. The OP is on the official v2.1 Tearing cannot be due to franesync on v2.1, as it won't be implemented on headsets until v2.3.

Your report looks like it was generated by AI. You reported issues with VD but then admit you don't even use VD??? 🤪
I can reproduce the screen tearing problem, but it only happens in Virtual Desktop. If I open the Meta menus while in the VD home, the menus display perfectly, but the rest of the VD environment still shows artefacts. The tearing is worse at 72 Hz and reduced but not absent at 120 Hz. There is no tearing in Link or in the standalone Quest environment.
The issue is reported in the VD Discord (by about 17 people):
https://discord.com/channels/564087419918483486/1484400556742279268
People are speculating that it's a v2.1/v2.3 problem, but considering it only seems to affect VD, I'd argue it is a VD problem.
