Several games are not installing from Oculus Rift store and cannot find support

I wanted to try some of the old experiences and noticed that some of them do not install. Others install without an issue.
After checking found out that 4 titles installation stars and interrupts after a short while.

Where can I find support to resolve this issue?

I don't really care for some of them as they are replaceable from Steam but "Ghost in the Shell" is not available there.

Is there a direct contact for Meta technical support?

Their "Support" center seems to be a maze of static pages without possibility to file a ticket.

    Ghost in the Shell is not available in the store anymore, so your download issues might br related to that. Just a guess.....

     

    Btw your nickname reminds me of "aufmbalkon"😅

    It's a bummer if they discontinued these games. There was an email notification regarding "Dead & Buried" but nothing about "Ghost in the Shell" and others.

    P.S.:
    The nick is my take of a song name. It's kinda German but not really.

      Ghost in the Shell was not a game, more of an "experience" that you could watch. You could probably watch it in VR from the Brower in your Quest, using this YouTube video link.

    Man, is support a chatbot or Indians that don't know English?!
    I'm kinda new here so don't know what to expect.

    They just close the ticket with response to a part of the  message without comprehending its context as a whole.

    Me: I have an issue. I cannot download several games from the store. <listing the games>
    Support: You can cross buy the games by clicking "Get" instead of "Buy".  <marks the ticket as resolved>
    Me: I don't want to get Quest versions of these games. I need versions from Oculus Rift store that were made for Oculus Rift CV1.
    Support: Can you check if the name "Found" is correct I could not find it in the store? <marks the ticket as resolved>
    Me: Yes, the name is correct. <providing screenshot from the app> Though I'm not interested in this specific game - I checked and see it's available in Steam and it's free. I'm interested in other games.
    Support: We are glad that you don't need "Found". It's unfortunate that "Ghost in the Shell" is not available on Steam. <marks the ticket as resolved>

      Mostly chatbots...... unfortunately.......  it's not like it used to be. ☹️

      If you've used chat to contact support, maybe try WhatsApp..... if you are lucky you might get through to a real person.

      Or send a PM MetaStoreHelp​  here in the forum. Click on their name, then click the "message" button.

       

      There is a review in the store from July this year.....the user is also says that he isn't able to downlöad the "Gost in a shell" anymore..... so, maybe contacting support is  wasted time anyways, because it is simply not available anymore🤷‍♀️

        So in the end I managed to go through these boots or whatever it was but...
        They responded that Rift is EOL so they consider Rift store EOL as well.

        It's a bummer since some of these old experiences exist only in old Rift store and there is no way for people to use them.

        In my case it were 5 experiences.

    There used to be community engagement. We've had community managers and moderators who were visibly active. A suggestion forum where you could vote on things. Competitions giving away merch (I won an Oculus tshirt). Weekly VR mini golf tournament with staff as part of the MVP program.

    But now I don't even know who the current community manager is. Support is probably mostly Meta AI. The MVP program was abandoned (well, never mentioned again after the admin who started it left).

    (Now I'm feeling sad, I've spent a LOT of time here over the last 12 years years)

     

    Anyway... in the case of the Ghost In The Shell experience, the company that made it (Here Be Dragons) closed and the founder made a new company and released the game Supernatural.

    Since it was for promoting the Ghost In The Shell movie, there may have been rights issues with keeping it on the store when the developer doesn't exist anymore.

      Whoa! That's so wholesome!

      Now it's clear why GitS is not available.

      I had a second part to why I asked: is there a way to propose to make sales on PCVR store? At least once a year.
      There are some games that are still considered great today and are cult classic. If you didn't manage to get them back in the days today the price is too steep (usually 40$).
      And judging by the reddit comments there are still people who are interested in these experiences but 40$ price tag is too much.
      I personally don't have (and didn't play) Lone Echo II, Asgard's Wrath and Stormland but... getting them is 120$. And some people don't own even more titles.

      More people having these titles will reduce the chance of them becoming lost media.

        Very good point. Maybe a subscription is a good idea for some people. I actually got Asgard's wrath with my Horizon plus subscription. Near the finish now, it's an epic game. I paid $60 for a  12 month sub and so far, as well as Asgard's Wrath, I got Red Matter, Hubris, Dark Sword, Synth Rider, Moss II, Maestro :Vampire; Masquerade, Room VR, Ghost of Tabor, Angry Birds, Golf +, Mini golf and a few others I can't remember. I can only play while I have the subscription though I did get big discounts on some I can keep. Overall it's a great deal. The two available this month, I'm not really into but I don't mind. I can't keep up with what I have now! 😁

      It's klburns​ . He did DM me a few weeks ago to say hello. He's been following some of the posts I've made. Probably because I've been spending way too much time in these forums lately 😁.

    Using the browse all games link above I can see all of the games mentioned (Abe, Apex Construct, After the Fall, Acron, Accounting+) in the list.

    All up 1000 games show for me (I counted manually, there's 250 rows with 4 games each).

    Maybe it's a regional thing?

    I'd check the rift desktop store, but I uninstalled it a few weeks ago while trying to debug crash issues (wasn't it, I just wanted to remove everything that had a service in the background).

      List on my personal account shows 1297.
      I double checked - there is one duplicate so it may be 1296 (or 1297 if name incorrect).
      Region was en-GB. I tried en-GB and en-US logged out and it shows 1000.


      I didn't look and check the list manually though.

      Yesterday when using the A-Z filter the games won't show up......

      I didn't scroll through all games without a filter 😏 and just used the search to find them.

      After your post I looked again........ now they are on the list.... even if I use the A-Z filter.

       

       

      I don't understand what's going on🤪........ I just take it how it is😅

        Something technical, possibly.
        Most possible: Caching. We were getting cached version of the pages and then cache refreshed.
        Less possible: Issue with DB query. The query is complex and in most circumstances shows 1000 records (it omits some of the records but not based on sorting but rather something else, maybe something related to joins between tables).
        Least possible: If they are using cloud infrastructure they may have several instances running for scalability and these instances have different DB or code.

        Btw. Abe and the rest appeared for me.
        Maybe some unknown hero that stays in the shadows fixed a technical bug.

    I wrote a javascript bookmarklet to extract the names from the web store (after I scroll through all the **bleep** things).

    No matter how I sort it and refresh, or whether I'm logged in or not, I get the same 1000 games every time.

      Don't you find it strange that it's 1000 titles?
      Especially if you're a dev.

      Can you share the list you have with me. I'll diff it and send you titles it doesn't have.

    HI, I have a Rift and had planned to play over the holidays, but a ton of games (Ex: Dead and Buried was one you had mentioned, also Adventure time , Brass Tactics, etc.) were not working and driving me crazy.  Found the issue and it has to do with an Open SSL environment setting affecting the newer Intel CPUs.  After applying the variable , then rebooting they started working again for PCVR on Rift!

    Another tip is the games need to be installed under Program Files\Oculus, the latest software loads to a different primary folder, I luckily had an older Meta installer so was able to get around this.  You might be able to create a new default library directory if you only have the latest SW.  It should be Program Files\Oculus\Software\Software where your game folders are going...

    Lastly, a few games no longer download at all from the store no matter what, Ex: I hate Santa, Seven Seas.. I just ended up getting these on Steam VR and they work fine from there...

      Thank you very much for advices.
      I'll dry using standard directory. Currently I have two libraries that are on different disks.

      About games not installing. This is the biggest concern because some of them exist only in old PCVR store.
