Steph

I have 2 Meta Quest 3S and nothing but problems. One just stopped working at 6 months old and the other has stopped working today just over warranty and so have to buy a new one.

One day they work fine the next they don't, this is not down to how they are being used and as they are nearly ยฃ300 I think they should last longer that 6 months and a year !

Support is no help and I now have a son who has no headset because it won't turn on or charge, its like its dead, probably software issue but Meta take no responsibility.

Does anyone have any advice as I don't want to purchase another one as they don't seem to be worth it, but my kids love them !

You can use a repair sevice like "Fix my Oculus"  if you are located in the US, or google for "vr headset repair sevice" in your country.

Maybe try the blip charging thing before you do anything else. If the battery is deeply drained, it won't take any charge by normal charging.

Read the first comment in the thread from the link below, it'll explain what you must do.

        Lol, you're right. Thanks!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

Hmm, I think I need  - along with the crystal ball - a warning light๐Ÿšจ, that lights up when I overlook obvious things.๐Ÿ˜…

Thank you for this, I tried all of these with the 1st headset that just stopped charging and switching on, it was under warranty so got replaced as was only 6 months old, not new but refurbed. My other sons one is just over warranty as finished in Dec and the exact same problem doesn't do anything just dead but they will not replace it and I am to purchase a new one, which quite honestly being 3rd device in 3 years seems a bit much when I have a PS4 that gets played a heck of a lot more and still going strong. These VR's are played 2hrs a day until they need charging, I don't see that as excessive use and a complete waste of money, but my children enjoy them.

No, it isn't...... some users have really bad luck with their devices.๐Ÿ™ I'm sorry for that, it's not the experience I made.

I have a Quest 2 for almost 5 years and a Quest 3 since release in October 2023.

They are used every day and I don't have any issues with them.

  • Mine suddenly after update constantly loses headset tracking as soon as I turn it on. Canโ€™t do ANYTHING becauase my display goes all wonky spinning and twirling like im falling and flipping at the same time. WTF

My son had something a bit similar but not as crazy and I told him to reset his boundary as it only happened in his bedroom and nowhere else.
