Still no V72 update for META QUEST 3S

I got my device 2 days ago. I saw that other people got the V72 update like 2-3 weeks ago. Why is my device still not getting this update? I also checked if there is a problem with my device with the serial number from the Meta's site, but there is no problem. When will the V72 update come to my device?

T0tito  Choleni  you can unofficially still get V72, but you do it at your own risk. I've used is several times.

  • Hi T0tito ðŸ™‚

the people who are already on v72 - like me - got this update BEFORE this "bricking headsets issue" started.

As @oculusness said..... nobody, who is not on v72 yet, will get it now, until the issue is fixed.

  • Hello,

I have just received my new Quest 3 yesterday (first time I bought and I am a VR headset). It immediately updated to v71 after I configured the WiFi connection. I would like to know if I just need to wait for v72 to be pushed to it as my main goal is to use the new Mixed Reality Link feature for Windows 11… Or is Meta still holding this version to be deployed due to bricking issues encountered ? Is there an official statement on v72 current availability or replacement (by v73 or newer)?

    Thanks

  • Im also enquiring regarding an official statement on v72 current availability or replacement (by v73 or newer)?

Seems to have gone very quiet on what the next steps will be.

That is a good question. Today I noticed that v72 was available to install in my 3s.
Wondering if this is a fixed version or the same buggy one, since I saw somewhere that the faulty update was set on hold and not being pushed to devices any more.

  • I have an update. I turned on my Quest 3 yesterday, went to settings and software update, and it's now appeared. Apparently it wasn't the actual meta update that was broken it was a 6yr old android system error. So I took the risk and updated to V72. No problems at all, all working fine, so finally looks like it's available again. I'm UK based.

  • My quest 3 also shown an upgrade to v72 more or less two weeks ago. I updated from v71 to v72 and it went fine. No bricking or any other type of issues. Looks like v72 is now available for any model and any location…
