Support for Oculus Rift?

Hello,
Unfortunately, the left earphone on my Oculus Rift has just started cutting out. Apparently, it's a very common problem, enough so that the original developer has provided repair kits to fix the issue. However, before I go down that route, I want to make sure it isn't something simpler. Because it's an old device, I'm having trouble finding where to go to get support for it. It's not even listed in devices. Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction?
Thank you!

As you know the left earphone audio issue is well documented. Firstly ensure that the screw holding the left earphone to the headstrap is screwed in fully.

Next, if you can get the the audio to work with the headstrap in a certain position you can tape the strap to hold it in that position. See Link -

The constant movement of the ribbon cable as the headstrap adjusts to the size of your head has caused it to fail. The point of flex is within the headset body and not in the headstrap. If you're lucky it may only be the common ground to the left earphone that has failed, so slaving the ground connection to the right earphone ground may fix the problem, as seen in the first video. If the traces are damaged to the positive leaft earphone side then you'll have to do a similar mod but you'll only get mono audio.

If these mods don't work, many folks just remove the headphones and have wired headphones going to the PC audio output.

This is a video of the actual ribbon cable fix which is fine work -

The original developer did mention that there would be a repair kit, but this never materialised. It's unlikely that meta support  will be able to help as the headset is way out of warranty. Having said all that , the Rift CV1 is still a great and comfortable headset.

Hey there ChristinaGrace. We just saw your post and we understand you are having an issue with the audio not working on the left side of your Oculus Rift. We are happy to provide you with a few troubleshooting steps for this to see if this resolves the issue.

      • Check the Meta Quest Link app settings to make sure your Rift is selected as the audio source:

*Open the Meta Quest Link app on your computer

*Select Devices in the left menu and then click Rift

*Below Audio, check to make sure Rift Headset is selected and that the audio slider is not muted, or set all the way to the left

      • Check to make sure the sound of your computer is turned up and not set to 0
      • Check to see if there are any updates for your Rift:

*Open the Meta Quest Link app on your computer

*Select Library in the left menu and then click Updates to check for updates

      • Re-seat the Rift cable
      • Re-seat the headphones
      • Try another USB 3.0 port
      • Restart your computer
      • Reinstall the Meta Quest Link app. Here is a handy link on how you can also troubleshoot Quest Link issues with your Rift device.
      • When the audio issue is affecting the headset and the PC audio, run the Windows Audio Troubleshooter.
