The image is shaking on Quest 3

Over the past couple of days I have noticed that my quest 3 has started to experience some jitter. When I move from side to side, the menu and environment begin to twitch. When I move the controller the same thing happens. This happens both through the broadcast and in the quest itself. This has never happened before.

  • Hey there, Smart136! Jittering issues can really damper the VR experience; let's see what we can do to help you out.

    Please try doing a reboot of your VR headset with the steps bellow:

    • Make sure the power is fully off and the device is fully charged
    • Hold down the volume down and power buttons at the same time until you see a menu
    • On the menu select boot or reboot
    • Highlight boot or reboot (to scroll use the volume up and down buttons)
    • To select this option use the power button to do so
    • This will prompt your device to restart

      I rebooted the device in the same way as you described, it did not help.
      Here's what I noticed: if you turn on the cameras instead of the environment in the helmet, the shaking almost completely stops. This also applies to augmented reality games. As soon as I turn on the environment, I notice a shaking every few seconds when moving.

        • Are you using PCVR or Standalone?
        • When did this start?
        • Did you do anything on the headset that you can remember right before this started? 
        • Is this happening in every game/app, or just the home environement in the headset?

  • Hey I know I am very late but I was wondering if you were able to fix this? I am having the exact same issue

        I did a factory reset, Restart, Clear boundry, pretty much everything can be done, This was also instructed by customer support and it seems like this is a hardware issue because they were asking for my address to ship me a new one so I just contacted amazon for a refund and hopefully they accept my refund because meta doesn't support warrenty where I live sadly

  • Had mine 10 days.  Line across the bottom of the right screen and it the image shakes just on that eye. Hard reset does nothing.  I bought this as a gift while away for work.  Meta tells me that I have to take it back to the country I bought it from.   $1500 plane ticket vs buying another one.  Ugh.  Quality issues that the customer is now shouldering

    Same issue. The UI window shakes/jitters and refuse to stay still. Although it doesn't move much it's really annoying and makes 2D apps unusable. I don't notice this in game; it's just the 2D windows. I experienced this on two Quest 3 headsets so it's a software issue.
