Unable to accept referral link

I just purchased my first Meta Quest 3s and I tried to use a link a friend sent me but I get the message :

Unable to accept referral 

There was an issue accepting this referral. You may not be eligible because the country or region is not supported. 

Im located in Mexico and this is my first meta quest.

    Mexico is a supported country, so actually accepting a referral link should work.
