I have exactly the same problem! Put everything back to the way it was before, when everything worked – what else do you need to come up with?!! Stop reinventing the wheel already!!! Don't justify your inaction with pointless improvements.
there are many people currently having identical issues. Clearly the problem is at your end so there should be no need to reach out privately. You should have many bug reports by now.
To people with this issue submit a bug report to Meta.
