    Hey everyone, I've connected with the team and they are actively investigating tracking issues like you've mentioned. We'll be working to improve performance, especially for competitive players in games like Gorilla Tag, Supernatural, IB Cricket, and Eleven Table Tennis. We expect to roll some of these improvements in the upcoming releases.

I have been playing IB Cricket and Eleven Table Tennis for about 2-3 years on Quest 2, almost never had any tracking issues.

Just got the Quest 3 and the games are unplayable, almost after every shot in the cricket I find my bat far away from me and takes a few wiggles to get it back to where it should be!

it’s so bad that I can’t really play the games because if I move too fast I am guaranteed to miss the shot because it loses tracking.

why do they have to mess the things that where working fine in the name of progress?

    Hi there warlock88 ,

    How is the lighting in your room? are you next to any mirrors? How are you holding the controllers? Are you using any accessories?

    The ring less design of the controllers combine information from hand tracking and the infra red l.e.d's around the face of the controller. This can be caught out if you are reaching high above your head or moving your hands far enough back

      Happens in both dim lighting and strong lighting ... it seems like the controllers cannot actively handle fast paced movements consistently .. this is extremely poor as most games require fast reflexes...

        Did you disable hand tracking?

    There is enough lighting in the room. I am attaching these guys to the beat saber handles.

      I would guess it's the beat saber handles where your issue lies.

      The new tracking algorithm uses hand tracking as well as traditional controller IR tracking. The Quest will be confused by the position of your hands compared to the location of the controllers. This may be up to the team at beat saber to create an option for folks using accessories, a bit like the option for the golf clubs with Walkabout and Golf +

      See if removing the handles fixes your problems

        Nah...I use the Quest 3 controllers without attachments other than a rubber cover for hand straps, and tracking is absolute crap with Beat Saber. The only thing I've found on line is take out the old batteries for 10 minutes and replace with new ones. After spending $650 on a 512GB headset, I'm really, really disappointed with tracking. Visuals with the 3 are great! Much better than the 2. But this only means that I can see how often it said I missed. I really hope Meta comes up with a fix soonest.

    Same issue here! The tracking is terrible and makes one of the best games (IB Cricket) very unplayable

    On the quest 3 there is a sensor at the bottom of the controller that the headset needs to read in order to track properly. If you’ve got rubber covers on the controllers, you’re blocking that led the headset needs for tracking and that could cause a ton of issues.

    Having exact same problem with ib cricket. I don't think controllers drift or lose tracking when in quest 3 games. But when I run ib cricket via stream VR, it's so annoying. It loses tracking until you wiggle it back. Idk if it's cz of the accessory (beat Sabre handle) or its just a problem with quest 3 controller - steam VR combo.

     

    Ibcricket subreddit is not active at all. Love the game but it's unplayable currently.

    I am having the same issue now.. ive been playing for 2-3 weeks absolutely fine standing up in a fairly open space and now whenever i swing the bat it just randomly displaces and you can actively see it messes up when you replay the ball. what the hell is going on ?

      If it isn't a hand tracking issue, perhaps it's lighting?

        it turned out to be hand tracking in the end i had to completely shut down the system and then try the game. i suppose this is a helpful fix but shouldn't be considered a solution. also i have noticed there is definitely a tracking issue when you swing the controller aggressively.. Meta should build an app that reports diagnostics on how accurate tracking is..
