I see an interesting trend here. I own a meta quest 2 headset, I currently consider myself a non casual user. I play twitch games that require speed and accuracy if no modifiers or helpers are turned on. One of my favorite is pistol whip. As well I exercise heavily with the meta quest 2. I require the controllers to track well and be accurate for my enjoyment. I don't like exercising when it feels like work but I love exercising when it's fun. My observation is that those of us who are more experienced VR players now, have advanced to a level where we require accuracy. If this was your first headset and accuracy didn't matter as much, your hand movements were slower, and you were just playing casually, most of the features would be satisfactory. However for more experience VR players, who have invested their time and money, we have advanced past casual and we need the newer version of the system in this case The Meta quest 3 to work as well as the meta quest 2. Having part of a system that is degraded in a new version is not acceptable, especially for those who have invested their time and money into the ecosystem. Maybe meta only cares about the casual players. I don't think that's a wise investment for the long term. And I think it's a step back especially when controllers with rings had one to one move in with perfect tracking. I'm glad I came to this forum, and I can see that this is still an issue. I stood in front of a Meta quest 3 today considering a purchase, I am so glad I randomly checked this forum. I think the only way this problem will be solved, it's different controllers that hand track properly with a ring again. The Ring didn't bother me at all, wish they would have just used the same technology for the controllers in the meta quest 3.
