It's just that there's a lot of writing everywhere about the fact that if you don't update your helmet for a long time, the latest update turns it into a brick and you can just throw it away. Even a newly purchased helmet can turn into a brick due to the upgrade.
That was a one-off upgrade problem at christmas last year. The process was pulled and fixed quickly. There have been a number of perfectly normal releases since then.
Normal, as in full of new bugs and unresolved old ones but the installation process doesn't seem to cause issues.

The answer is no.There is no way to avoid getting bugs, everything is within Meta's plan. Just a roulette wheel, good luck.
