Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback. We genuinely appreciate hearing from experienced developers and designers, especially those actively participating in the PTC program. Input like yours is an important part of how we evaluate changes before they reach a wider audience.
We understand that the recent system navigation behavior in v85 has been frustrating for you and for others in your community. Changes to foundational parts of the system UI can be disruptive, particularly when they affect workflows users have already adapted to. Your concerns around usability, consistency, and communication are heard and have been shared with the relevant product and UX teams.
As part of the PTC, features may be adjusted, temporarily rolled back, or tested in different configurations while we gather data and feedback. This can sometimes result in experiences that feel like a step backwards, even when the longer-term goal is improvement. While we are not able to share specific timelines or implementation details, please know that the navigation experience is an active area of iteration and discussion internally.
Regarding experimental options and toggles, these are periodically added or removed as features evolve or transition between testing phases. Removal of a toggle does not necessarily reflect a final decision on the underlying feature, but rather the current state of testing.
We also appreciate your broader perspective on Horizon Worlds, audience segmentation, and overall platform direction. While we cannot comment on future plans, this feedback is valuable context and contributes to ongoing conversations about how to better serve different user groups.
We recognize your frustration and appreciate the constructive way you have articulated it. Additional updates and refinements will continue to roll out over time, and feedback from PTC members like you plays a key role in shaping those decisions.
Thank you again for taking the time to reach out and for being part of the Quest community.
Best regards,
Randal
(Full disclosure, I'm not the Meta Quest Team, but that's the response we will probably get! I agree, I liked the Navigator, and also I temporarily got a NEW updated Navigator that had battery status and time on it, but it got taken away after 24hours... no response from meta on that!)
