With v77 on my Quest 2 seemingly at random a popup graphic with two eyes with lines running down from the pupils to a number (63) shows up. It's only visible briefly, too fast for me to react and get a screen shot.
Why is it showing up? And other than moving the eyepieces manually on the headset, where to you set the IPD? How do you disable this annoying popup?
The bug is still not fixed on my quest 2 (v81 now). The adb command works, thanks, but I need to send it every time after turning on my device, it is difficult. In addition to the ipd image, my screen twitches from side to side very quickly, I associate this with the ipd bug because it started to happen simultaneously after update 77.
I haven't seen the pop-up last days. I launched the adb command mentioned above, but after that I definitely rebooted the headset. And I see - a new SW version was installed last Friday. Therefore, I don't know whether the "debug.oculus.noIpdNotifier" property value remains permanently, or this was fixed in the last SW update.
I don't recall seeing the popup recently. I think the v79 Aug 11 update may have fixed it.
Looks like the extremely long power off bug has been fixed too.

I found temporary solution! Via Sidequest paste this adb command:
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.noIpdNotifier 1
It will disable popup until next reboot. Not very usefull, so may be Meta engineers can simply add option to interface to turn off this crap! If they for 3 month can't found reason of this bug!

Don't the Meta coders know how to search the code base for the IPD popup routine and trace all the conditions that cause it to trigger?
I received the following response from the Meta support:
I have reached out to our specialized team on this matter, and they have confirmed to me that this is actively being looked into by our engineers. At this information stage, we would be extremely grateful if you continue to submit bug reports when you get the chance - as this gives our engineers more data to look into to hopefully come to a resolution quicker.
v79.1027 popup still happens randomly.

Seems to do it a couple of times then seems to stop.
Now they suggest a factory reset. Did somebody do the factory reset? Have it helped with the IPD problem?
Do not factory reset. I've already done it and it didn't fix the issue.
In all honesty I can't really see that working. Its a bug which will just resurface after a factory reset (which causes you to redownload all your games, hide all the titles you have painstakingly hidden over time etc). Its not happend again on my headsets for a while now. Its just META's typical responce instead of finding the root cause a BUG. Its not isolated as in maybe just you and you have corruption which a factory reset would probably fix. Its happening to many many people which Meta know about but still talk to you and give suggestions as if you are the first case. Maddening
I'm communicating with @MetaQuestSupport in private, looks like they don't even understand what the problem is. They ask strange questions, such as "can I close the pop-up window". They suggest standard steps like hard reboot and software update, but this doesn't help, as expected. Definitely, It should be fixed in the software, but it seems that there is no communication between support and developers. 😞
