You’re not alone, this seems to be a random bug in the V81 beta. A few things that sometimes help: fully restart the headset, make sure it’s updated, or toggle hand tracking off and on. Hopefully the next beta patch makes it more consistent.
Is it still in Beta? I thought it went live on 22nd Oct. Yeah i have to restart multiple times, i dont think i can toggle hand tracking because i cant see anything to get to settings.
It surely DID go live on the 22nd. This is bullsh*t. I've been having to deal with this bug for the past few days...and I don't think any of the "fixes" are solid ones. The menu just comes back at random, after many reboots. Sure, it may seem that requesting a "cast" from the phone app(and then turning on the headset creates a temporary fix...but that does not work consistently...so that ain't even a fix. That's most likely a random coincidence.
Meta needs to do an overhaul on their staff...because a brick-inducing bug like this should not have made its' way into a LIVE update...and it wouldn't have if Meta had a good staff on their hands. I'm just about at the end of patience with Meta...and I'm considering making my Quest3 the last purchase I ever make from this horrible company. Utter incompetence.
i hear you, this should not have happened, and should be fixed by now, i really hope they dont plan on leaving this in this state until the next update. at this time im having to leave the headset in sleep instead of turning it off because i cant be bothered turning it off and on up to 5 times to get it working
