vr controllers work but dont work (?)

so when i turn on my vr, my controllers work perfectly fine. then when i click which profile im using, it stops functioning. the vr controllers DO work, the avatar moves when i do, the fingers move when i make thwm move. but when it comes to clicking something on the homescreen, nothing works. the icons that im hovering on light up like i can click them, but no matter but buttons i press, it wont click. and also, the white dot/ pointing dot thingy is stuck in the middle of the screen and when i moves my head it follows. ive restarted it millions and millions of times. took out the batterys and done everything that i can to. ive serched everywhere but theres no answer.  (im on a quest 3s btw)
