Warranty Plus Serial #

So I signed up for the Warranty Plus on our Quest 3 using the serial number off the headset (side of strap). Every time I entered that number it automatically changed the number in the finalize order screen. I figured maybe it had to do with the way it’s processed etc. so I finished the order. Needless to say when I go into my Meta account online it shows a device with that “new” serial number being covered but in the Meta Horizon App it only shows my standard warranty with reference to the serial on the headset. I reached out to Meta support and still haven’t received any correspondence. Does anyone know if this is normal? I’m just concerned if my kids do something stupid they won’t honor the warranty since the serials don’t match.

    OK, the change in the serial number is probably related to the whole set including controllers.  The device itself and each controller have their own serial numbers, but the correct serial number is the one on the box as it encompasses the device and controllers. That's likely the reason the number changed. I don't think there is any problem but it is possible that standard warranty is showing only because you used the headset serial number only. The important one is the number on your Meta account rather than the Horizon app, so I don't think you should lose any sleep over it. 🙂
